A trip to Tasmania is not complete until you have been to Salamanca Markets. The markets operate every Saturday. As well as the markets there are many fine dining experiences to found in the Salamanca and waterfront area. Click here to find out more.

One of Hobart’s iconic landmarks is of course Mt Wellington or Kunanyi. The summit (1271m) can be accessed via a 15 to 20 minute drive from Hobart.

An alternative route from Tassie Holiday Homes will take you through beautiful Ferntree before the drive to the top. Only a 25 minute trip.

The panoramic view from the summit is brilliant and well worth the drive. Remember to dress warmly as it is usually quite a few degrees cooler.

Tassie Holiday Homes is close to the Huon Trail.

The Huon Trail is a great touring route. It winds down the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, along beautiful waterways and through quaint little towns. Enjoy stopping at boutique vineyards, cafe’s and many scenic points of interest along the way.

Plan a visit to Bruny Island. The Ferry leaves regularly from Kettering. After a pleasant 15 minute ride across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, you disembark on Bruny Island, ready to explore this remote part of the world.

 

Another part of the Huon trail which is only a short drive away is the Huon Valley

This is also a beautiful part of the world. As well as the amazing view along the way, the Huon Valley boasts an extensive range of vineyards, Restaurants, Art and craft shops and lots of local produce. Read more here.
